About
Campfire Circle
A serious illness changes lives
So does camp. Since 1983, Campfire Circle (formerly Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium) has brought healing through happiness to kids with cancer or serious illness and their families. Through our in-hospital, community, and overnight camp programs, we create opportunities for children to build friendships and social skills, develop self-confidence and resiliency, and improve their overall well-being. By providing play-based experiences, we empower kids to take back their childhood, regardless of their medical diagnosis.
Thanks to our generous donors and community partners, our programs are fully accessible and offered at no cost to families. We are proud to work with leading paediatric healthcare partners across Ontario to bring our joyful camp experiences to children receiving treatment in hospitals, often at their bedside, all year round. And our medically supported overnight camps ensure that even the most fragile children can experience the joy and freedom that comes from being at camp.
“My first summer, I ended up getting chemo twice at camp. It was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience, being in a hospital chair one minute and in the lake the next!”
